Good Morning,

My name is Nickell and Wednesday my whole world changed.  My fiance and I have an 9 month old and were shocked to find out we were expecting again!  Wednesday, I got the news I was so excited for, ITS A GIRL!!!!  About 40 mins later my world was rocked by a phone call.  During the ultrasound the doctor saw "severe brain and spine damage".  I felt like all the air left my body.  I spent the next 18 hours in tears, what was wrong with my little girl? Yesterday, I went to have another ultrasound done and it was confirmed she had SB.  My eyes filled with tears again because I know nothing about this world.  After listening to the doctor give me all the worst case possible outcomes, I went home and hit the Internet.  I found websites with the most precious angels and knew my daughter would be okay!

As her Mother, I will make sure see is surround with love and encouragement!  Through my faith, I know God does not make mistakes.  Since we are new to this world, what is to be expected?  I know she is going to need surgery within the first 48 hours, since we are located in Baltimore County, we are blessed that this surgery will be performed at John Hopkins hospital.  How is the first year?  And if any of you have other children, how do you introduce SB to them?
