My daughter is 33 yrs old and was born with SB.  I was very worried during her high school years because kids can be so cruel.  She more than survived!  She was in the Children of Liberty chorus and sang at Carnegie Hall.  I am so proud of the woman she has become.  She has braces on her legs and is self-cathed.  She is a MRI tech and also gave birth to two wonderful children.  Just want everyone to know that there is hope.  So grateful for this website.  Get involved, ask questions.  Since it was 33 years ago, they sent my daughter home with me with a "bubble" on her lower spine and didn't close her spine until she was a month old.  She has had at least 9 operations, including untethering of the spine and on her feet because of a club foot.  Going through this has only made her stronger and more beautiful.  Thanks Sophies Voice!
